The Tulip Centre at Tapping House is an important part of the Hospice’s services, providing a supportive, welcoming environment for patients and their families. Offering a range of services, activities, and therapies for anyone with a potentially life limiting illness such as cancer, COPD or heart failure. Depending on your individual needs and situation we can offer a range of groups and intervention. 

These are designed to enhance quality of life, manage symptoms alongside medication and promote independence.

Therapies at the Tulip Centre

The Tulip Centre provides a range of short-term therapeutic groups and interventions. We provide opportunities for individuals to re-engage in meaningful activities, to explore new interests and skills, offering a distraction from anxiety, pain or fatigue; to improve mood and motivation and provide an opportunity for social interaction.

We provide sessions to help manage symptoms, such as breathlessness and fatigue and anxiety. We offer opportunities to improve mobility, fitness and balance. Additionally, we offer a variety of Complementary Therapies, including Massage, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, and Reflexology.

For anyone with a potentially life-limiting illness such as cancer, COPD or heart failure. We offer a short term service with a focus on rehabilitation and quality of life. Depending on your individual needs and situation we can offer a range of groups and interventions.

Holistic Care Approach ​

The Centre focuses on a holistic approach, addressing not only the physical needs of patients but also their emotional, psychological, and social well-being. This holistic care helps patients live as well as possible, managing symptoms and improving their overall quality of life.

Support for Carers and Families

In addition to supporting patients, The Tulip Centre works closely with our team that provides crucial emotional psychological and pastoral support for carers and family members. This includes counselling, and guidance to help them cope with the challenges of caring for a loved one with a life-limiting illness.

Specialist Therapies

The Centre offers access to a range of specialist therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and complementary therapies like massage or aromatherapy. These services help with symptom management, relaxation, and improving mobility, all aimed at enhancing the patient’s comfort and well-being.

A Sense of Community

The Tulip Centre brings together people with shared experiences to support one another. This sense of community is invaluable in helping patients and their families feel less isolated during challenging times.

Referring to the Tulip Centre

We’re here to make the referral process as simple and straightforward as possible. Whether you’re a healthcare professional or referring yourself, we’re happy to guide you every step of the way. 

To get started, simply fill out the referral form and send it to norfolk.hospice@nhs.net. We accept referrals from both professionals and individuals seeking support. 

Self Referrals 

If you’d like to refer yourself, just give us a call at 01485 601700 (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm). Our friendly team will take your details and work with you to complete the referral form. We may also reach out to any health professionals involved in your care for additional information.

Once your referral is received, it will be triaged and allocated to an appropriate member of the team, who will invite you to meet with them for an initial consultation. From there, the appropriate team member will be in touch with you.
