Volunteer Drivers

We’re currently recruiting volunteer drivers to help with this vital service.

Our Patient Transport service provides a safe and efficient, high quality transport service for patients, their families and their carers – from their homes to the Hospice, and the return journey. This may be for day therapy assessments and groups, bereavement/family support, complementary therapies or any other service offered by the Hospice.

In one of the hospice vehicles you’ll pick passengers up at a prearranged time and take them from their home to the hospice.

We are in particular need on Friday’s.

Please note that patient / client contact roles are specialist roles where there are occasional vacancies only and all require detailed training over several weeks, including e-learning. Please check our website or contact Voluntary Services for details of available roles.

References

Please give details of two referees over the age of 18 years, who have known you for more than 2 years, are not related to you and do not currently work or volunteer for the Hospice. We will only contact your referees once we have confirmed there is a vacancy available.

please note that anyone having had a significant bereavement less than 18 months ago is unlikely to be considered for a role involving direct patient or client contact
