Donating in memory is a meaningful tribute to someone who has passed away. Instead of traditional gifts like flowers, families and friends
can contribute funds to the Hospice in the name of their loved one.
These donations help ensure that the hospice can continue providing care and support for others in need.
Any amount is greatly appreciated and provides immediate support, directly funding essential care and comfort for our patients and their families.
However much you can afford we are hugely grateful for your support and donation.
These reliable ongoing donations help us to respond consistently to our community needs allowing us to plan for and maintain high-quality care.
It really is so easy to donate today, thank you for your support.
During a funeral or memorial service, many families choose to request donations instead of flowers. This heartfelt gesture can make a lasting impact in the community and provide a meaningful way for others to show their support.
We offer personalised donation envelopes upon request. These can be distributed at the service, and eligible donations can be Gift Aided, increasing their value to the Hospice by 25%.
You might like to create a funeral notice to share the details of your loved one’s service with family and friends. It’s a thoughtful way to keep everyone informed and can also be used to collect donations in lieu of flowers. You could even turn the page into a special online memorial, sharing photos and memories to celebrate their life.

Celebrate your loved one’s life with a dedicated tribute page. Family and friends can share memories, leave messages, and donate in their honour. It’s a powerful way to keep their legacy alive while supporting a cause close to their heart.
We’ve found the Facebook Tribute pages to be a great tool to use for this. Please visit our Hospice Facebook page to create your fundraiser tribute in memory of your loved one.
During the month of December our Light Up A Life campaign at the Hospice and in the community, provides an opportunity for people to pause and reflect, to celebrate our families and remember those who are sadly no longer with us.
Our Hospice tree is adorned with hand written stars from hundreds of families we have supported over the years. This is the perfect time to remember loved ones and create a tribute.
“A gift in your Will is a wonderful way to ensure future generations benefit from the care and support Tapping House provides.”
Niki Ellis, CEO (or someone else?!)
A gift of a legacy helps us achieve long term financial stability, allowing us to continue with the care that is vital to so many, and plan and build for the future, so we can help more people in more ways. Leaving a legacy to the Hospice means that people who need our support will get it for generations to come.
Legacy Giving (Wills and Bequests)
Leaving a gift in a will is a powerful way to donate in memory. Individuals can allocate a specific amount or a percentage of their estate to the hospice as part of their legacy.
To learn more about how to create a Will or find out more about Legacy Giving please have a look through our helpful pack, which has lots of useful information about the importance of making a Will and the huge difference your legacy can make.
It’s the incredible kindness of strangers that allows families to have precious time with their loved ones during life’s most challenging moments. People from all walks of life do amazing things to support us – adults and children alike, helping in celebration, in sadness, and in memory.
There are countless ways to get involved: take part in an event or plan your own… if you need any help in organising your own fundraising event please do get in touch with our fundraising team and drop us an email:

Whatever you choose to do, your support will make a real difference.
Have you ever considered Volunteering? It’s not only brilliant for your own health and well-being but it can release feel-good hormones like dopamine and serotonin, that improves your mood, reduce stress and combat loneliness. And helps the Hospice in more ways than you will ever know.
We have over 300 volunteers who work in all areas of the charity varying from retail, reception, gardening, bereavement support and more. These wonderful people contribute over 50,000 hours a year, but we always, always need more volunteer help, especially at events.
We’ve lots of volunteering opportunities for you to get involved with, so do get in touch if you’re interested in volunteering and find out more.
However you wish to fundraise for us, we’re all ears and can’t thank you enough.
If you have any questions or need help with the process, feel free to call us on 01485 601700 and ask for the Clinical Admin team. You can leave a few brief details, and we’ll make sure the right person gets back to you as soon as possible.
Our hospice is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and we’re always happy to help.
