Our Hospice at Home service is a vital part of the hospice’s care, providing compassionate, high-quality support to patients in the comfort of their own homes. This service allows individuals with life-limiting illnesses to receive the specialist care they need in a familiar and comforting environment, surrounded by their loved ones.
“The Rapid Response team were available for us during the night. This service really was vital. When you are with a loved one as they fight against the illness that will eventually take them, it is comforting to know that support and care is available at the end of the telephone during those hours of darkness.“

Our team of registered nurses and palliative nursing assistants provide personal and clinical care along with emotional support for patients and those around them – day and night. Our Rapid Response service operates through the night to respond to unplanned care needs.
Our Hospice at Home service allows patients to stay in their preferred place of care, making it possible for them to spend their final days with dignity, surrounded by family, and receiving the expert care that Tapping House is known for.
Tailored to the individual’s needs, our service provides medical personalised care, pain management, and emotional support, making sure patients remain comfortable and well-cared for at home.
In addition to caring for the patient, the Hospice at Home team provides guidance and emotional support to family members, helping them navigate the challenges of caring for a loved one at home.
The service offers round-the-clock support, giving patients and their families peace of mind, knowing that professional help is just a phone call away, day or night. For out of hours Rapid Response please call 07436 336422 between the hours of 7pm and 7am
The Hospice at Home team consists of registered nurses and palliative nursing assistants who specialise in rest-of-life care. They work closely with the patient and their family, doctors, and other health and social care providers to ensure seamless, continuous care.
Referrals to the service are usually made by hospital teams, GPs or health care staff such as community nurses, specialist nurses or community therapists. If you need any further support please call Tapping House on 01485 601700.
